Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser Review

August 29, 2016 0 Comments
“I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic IllnessBloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. “

Have you seen all the different Essential Oil diffusers for sale lately?  I have, and I certainly didn’t know which one was the one for me.  When I was offered the chance to review the Organic Aromas Nebulizing diffuser, I was excited!  Knowing that essential oils can be good for health, this was a great opportunity to try one for myself.

The diffusers from Organic Aromas are handmade and come in a huge variety of styles.  They even have hand-carved and different stains, too.  You can choose what fits your personality or home decor.  These are just two of the selections you can chose from in their product line.

They are very safe and quiet and use no heat or water.  Many diffusers use water to help the essential oils to release into the air through humidity and heat.  This makes the oils weaker.  Other diffusers use high heat, which changes the essential oils at the molecular level.  The Organic Aromas Diffuser uses neither heat nor water.  In this way, you get the full strength of the 100% pure organic essential oil and all it’s health benefits.

Here is a diagram from Organic Aromas.  You can learn all about how the diffuser works to flow the essential oils through and out the glass cap.  You can also see all the beautiful diffusers and kits and purchase products for yourself.  And, right now there is a Summer Special: purchase a diffuser and receive a 30 ml Citronella Essential Oil free!  This is great for indoor and outdoor pests.
When I selected my Raindrop Essential Oil Diffuser, I saw that it came in two color choices.  I loved the light wood, but I picked the black wood.  It was a little more contemporary and worked with the colors in my fireplace.  It looks wonderful on the side table and the scent of the essential oil is terrific in the room.  Yet, it doesn’t knock you down, either.

I enjoy the lights that come and go inside the diffuser, especially at night.  My puppy likes to watch them, too.  One really nice feature of the diffuser is that it automatically shuts off after two hours.  This is great in case I drift off to sleep.  The diffuser is 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide.  It works with a 110 or 220v electric outlet and comes with an adapter for other outlets in (USA, UK, EU, AUSTRALIA, etc).

The 100% Organic Essential Oil that I reviewed was the Organic Aromas Peppermint.  In the past, peppermint essential oils (when placed on my temples) have helped my headaches a little.  I thought this would be a good oil to try.  This scent was very pleasing in the room and I really loved the way that it didn’t over-power me.  Here are some good reasons to use Peppermint oil:
Essential Oils Benefits
·       Room freshener
·       Boosts brain activity
·       Anti-bacterial and Anti-fungal
·       Enhances the function of other oils
·       Promotes health and well-being
·       Smells wonderful!

Some of the other essentials oils that are available include:
Ylang Ylang– This comes from a tall tree in Indonesia and Africa.  This oil has a euphoric and sedative effect on the nervous system, which helps with tension and anxiety.
Signature – This Organic Aromas Signature Blend is a wonderful combination of five unique pure essential oils to create a scent like nothing you’ve ever experienced!
Rose Geranium  – This oil is often used with other oils to accentuate a calming blend.  It’s most well-known for its distinct astringent, hemostatic, deodorant and anti-depressant qualities.
Tea Tree Oil – One of the most popular and widely used essential oils ever. This is a powerful immune system stimulant.
Rosemary – Rosemary has been a prized plant for centuries.  It has been used in many ways: food, aromatherapy and on the skin and hair.
Serenity – This is a gently blend of essential oils with distinctive therapeutic effects: sedation, anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety and analgesic properties.
Passion – This oil blend is extremely effective mixture of a variety of essential oils: anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, antidepressant and aphrodisiacal properties.

There are 11 more offered at Organic Aromas.  Check Here to read about all the benefits of each.  Organic Aromas also sells the Essentials Oils in sets of: Sampler Pack, Designer Series Essential Oil Blends Luxury Gift Set, and Master Aromatherapist Gift Set.

I’ve really enjoyed and will continue using the Organic Aromas Diffuser and Essential Oils in my home.  The beautiful hand-made quality wood diffuser and glass-top make me believe that I will be blessed for years to come with lovely scents in my home.  The wonderful Scents are very relaxing and I plan to use more and try new ones as well.  I would recommend this company to you because it appears to be very good quality.

Homeschooling and Dual Enrollment

August 15, 2016 0 Comments
Homeschooling and dual enrollment: it seems to be all the rage now. We’ve tried it in our homeschool in the past. It was successful as far as the grades went. Our student received all A’s in their classes. But, I don’t recommend it to anyone else. Here are my thoughts on the subject. And, yours may be totally different.

Dual enrollment can help your student take a high school course and earn college credit at the same time. This occurs when the student signs up for a college course in a general studies course, such as English 101. Now, if I use this class for an example, here’s my problem. If Johnny is a high-school senior he would normally take English 4.

For my student, in English 4, he studied Grammar and Composition 4, as well as Literature 4. This was a very rigorous course, that prepared him well for College classes (not just English, but for all of his writing assignments in other courses). So, he is better off with a tougher class in High School (IMHO).

Dual enrollment also takes your student out of the high school environment a year or two early and places them with college-aged students. Your homeschool student may appear mature (you’ve raised them right), but they are not as mature as the 19-22 year-olds on the college campus. My choice is to give them all the time possible before they’re plopped down into a campus with thousands of students who’ve just left mom and dad! It’s not about trust, but it’s a totally different atmosphere. 16-17 year olds aren’t ready for college.

Are they ready at 16 to face professors who may want to subtly change their worldview?  You may think that three to four years won't change them.  But, what if you're wrong?  These are just things to consider.  We decided to let our children grow up a little longer and live with us during those questioning years.  I would rather them be at home when they have questions.  We've had some very interesting family talks, and I bet you have, too.

Why rush them? They have their whole life ahead of them. Those advanced courses in high school are more important than taking English 101 or College Algebra for Sr year. Let them take the highest math and science courses or more electives, instead. You may disagree with me, and that’s fine. After graduating my three children, this is just my opinion. And, it’s certainly shown true in their SAT scores. How about you?

AromaFloria Muscle Soak Collection Review

August 04, 2016 0 Comments

“I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers  network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. “

When I received these lovely products, I didn’t know what to try first!  I was so excited to try natural and healthy things to help me feel better.  All of these smell so great, too!  My first choice was something to loosen up those sore muscles. So, I asked Hubby to apply the Muscle Soak Bath & Body Massage Oil on my upper back and shoulders.  He rubbed it in and massaged the area.  The aroma was heavenly and the muscles began to feel terrific!  After a few minutes I could tell that the muscles were relaxed and felt “alive” from the essential oils.  This Massage Oil includes Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Lemongrass essential oils.  The smell is moderate and wonderful.  Because I have Mast Cell Disorder and can’t take strong smells, I can honestly say this smell is great and I haven’t had any rashes from it.  The strongest smell of the three coming through is the Peppermint and I think this is my favorite.  My morning migraine seems a little better from smelling this, too.

I have so many allergies, and hate taking all the medicines for them.  I take many pills and nasal sprays, but still have a stuffy nose.  Year-round allergies are hard to deal with.  I’m even allergic to my-self.  I was very curious to try the Inhalation Beads, and had never even known there was such a thing.  Most of my nasal sprays give me a headache (while they clear my nose), and also contain steroids.

I followed the directions on the Sinus Help Inhalation Beads: filling the Reusable Pouch with the Inhalation Beads and held it to my nose.  I sniffed and inhaled 3-4 times and the essential oils were strong.  After a few seconds my nose was clearing.  Then, my nose cleared completely!  I was really amazed.  As I’m writing now, my nose is still clear with no sniffing.  Hubby is excited about the Sleep Ease Inhalation Beads.  He has a hard time falling asleep, but doesn’t want to take drugs.  This is the perfect solution.  Both of these solutions use nothing but natural essential oils to help the body.

We all know that exfoliating our skin will bring out skin’s rosy glow, but did you know that Muscle Soak has a Sugar Salt Glow Body Scrub?  They have combined the power of therapeutic Ocean minerals and organic sugar to reveal healthier looking skin.  The essential oils used are:
Eucalyptus – inflammatory, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial
Peppermint- soothes sore muscles, eases aches and pains
Lemongrass – energizes and tones the skin
This product is also:
Vegan – No animal testing – Biodegradable – Sulfate free – parabens free – phthalate free

What do you want to do when all your muscles and joints hurt?  Soak in a warm tub?  How about a bubble bath?  With the Muscle Soak Foaming Bubble Bath you’re not just using a perfumed bath.  Just like the Body Scrub, you’re experiencing the Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Lemongrass to soothe sore muscles and restore flexibility.  This formula is PH balanced, paraben free, Amide free, SLES, and SLS free.  I love the scent of the combined essential oils and how relaxed I feel soaking in this bubble bath!

Natural mineral salts helps the nervous system, relieve stress, and can relieve water retention.  Those are great reasons to try this wonderful Muscle Soak Ocean Mineral Bath Salts.  When I poured some into the bath water, there was an instant aroma of Eucalyptus.  It was wonderful to smell!  I soaked in the tub and the water was very soothing and the aromatherapy was definitely relaxing.  It is supposed to detoxify the skin and restore mineral balance via the skin.  These are super benefits all from a relaxing tub bath.

I’ve really enjoyed using these fine bath and skin products, and have felt better after using them.  Even though I suffer from severe skin allergies, I have had no skin reactions.  It’s always so nice to find something new that I can use.  I love that the products are natural and helpful for soothing aching muscles.  My favorite was the Massage Oil.  You can learn more about Aromafloria HERE.  I think you would enjoy trying these for yourself!
