  6. My dad died when i was 7 but i do remember him packing up the camper and all of us heading to the Arkabutla Lake. We would go at least once a month and we all loved it!

  8. I remember my dad and I taking walks in the evening as the sun set. We'd walk with our pet dachshund, and my dad would let me carry the flashlight. It was lovely.

  9. My grandfather was my father figure and one of my favorite memories is him letting me help him change tires and how to check oil from a very young age. I didn't really know I was learning things that ended up serving me well, I just thought I was having a good time.

  10. My favorite father memory is actually several - we used to vacation in Wisconsin every year, and we'd go out on the lake in a motor boat and fish.

  13. I don't remember alot about my dad but i remember how important church was to him and going with him. I remember him praying at the end of his bed every night too!

  15. I remember the olive-green meal trays, made of heavy plastic, that my dad would serve our dinner on. There were little "grooves" or compartments for everything... I loved those trays.

  19. My dad use to take me hunting and I just seemed not to be able to find any thing to hunt and kill. He loved hunting and had no boy so I would go. I am sure he knew I was holding back!!!

  37. I remember way back to when we lived at our old house, when I was very young. We lived in what might be best described as a remote, scattered suburb. In the fall, my dad would have a few controlled burnings-- of leaves, brush, and so on-- and I'd stand and watch the fire with him.
    ...It's strange... I don't know when I last thought of that. Interesting how memory works.

  41. I remember my dad as always, always being reliable and on-time-- and he still is! For example: If he said that he would pick me up after school at 4pm, I would find him there waiting for me at 4pm.

    ...This is not related to anything in the entry form, but I would like to thank you for asking this question. I know that it can be difficult for some people to write/think about topics of this nature-- I've struggled with similar questions & prompts on other blogs, relating to other topics (including family). However, reflecting on this particular question has been... well, I don't quite know how to describe it in a word or two, but thank you.
