This book was also required reading for my children during Biology 101. Excellent read!

My Side Of The Mountain

My Side Of The Mountain

This is a great resource to teach your teens about saving their sexual activity for marriage. There is information about STD's, and several high school and college students are interviewed. It will spark appropriate discussions between you and your children.

   Book Lists

Book lists are a very important part of planning your child's curriculum. Making good choices will develop an intrinsic taste for well-written literature. You probably will assign certain books for your child to read throughout the school year. It is helpful to connect solidly with different eras in history, or certain scientific accomplishments. One way to do this is to assign biographies to read of different famous men and women. After I plan this, I also create a reading schedule of my own. It is called, "Mom's Reading List." This keeps me on track, reading aloud to my children year round. I devise this list by counting the chapters or pages in the book, and divide them up throughout our "school days." Including an assortment of books that meet the academic needs of my children, while also, taking their interests into account, I try to mix and match selections to have a fun filled year.

These are some places I return to, looking for quality ideas.
