Mission To Serve

After returning from my trip to the HEAV Homeschool Convention, the flare was very strong.  Chronic illness sufferers will often experience flares of pain and worsening of their symptoms after doing too much activity.  Walking around for three days of convention was definitely too much activity for me.

My flare consists of much more pain in many more places.  Instead of just pain in my back, neck, shoulders, feet, hips and knees, my pain was also in the front of my body, and in all joints.  My fatigue was much worse and noise was intolerable.  I've been napping more and going to bed much earlier.  My feet, knees and face have stayed more swollen.

Having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Disorder, Scoliosis, Kyphosis, Lordosis, Osteoarthritis, Seizures, Psoriasis, Shoulder Instability, Autoimmune Disorder, and Chronic Migraine promise to give me a life that won't be easy.  Although I wondered if I had made a mistake in going to the convention, God let me know that He wanted me to be there.  God can use a cracked vessel or a vessel that's not perfect.

Serve Back Pain

A Christian doesn't have to be new and shiny for God to fill it and use it to bless others.  While I was at the Convention, God continued to bless me and challenge me, too.  The speakers taught me many things, based on God's word.  I hope to begin passing much of this over to you.  I tried to learn all I could.  "A cracked pot reveals more of God's Light" (David Dykes, 2010).

My mission word for the convention was "serve".  When I hurt so bad that I wanted to stop, I would think of that word.  When I felt frustrated because my feet were "asleep", I whispered that word.  Because I really believe in homeschooling the right way, I do want to serve those who were there to help homeschooling families.

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” I Peter 4:10
